What is the Human Interest staff’s favorite place to shop or eat in Athens?
“I really love Brenens (Coffee Cafe) for both their coffee and sandwiches,” Ethan Herx, a junior studying photojournalism, said. “Bagel Street (Deli) is also one of my go-to lunch spots. I really love the variety that Bagel Street has, and I know the quality is always good.”
“For food, I like Kroger because they have good gluten free options,” Mary Kate McNamee, a senior studying English literature, said. “For clothes, I like Marshalls, lowkey.”
“My favorite place to shop for clothes in Athens is Kismet on West State Street,” Gina Napoli, a junior studying journalism, said. “Kismet is a local business, and I believe it is crucial to support Athens' businesses. My friends and I go together on the weekends, and there is always something new, whether it is clothing or some cute jewelry and accessories.”
“My favorite places to shop on campus for clothing would be any random thrift pop up,” Fiona Petticrew, a sophomore studying communications, said. “I don't have a car, and I don't want to walk or ask for a ride to the nearest thrift store.”
“I like Marshalls because their clothes are inexpensive and actually pretty cute,” Renae Hefty, a junior studying journalism, said. “Last time I went I found some really funky Halloween decorations. One of them was a plastic telephone shaped like a dragon that said something different in a scary voice every time I picked it up.”
“My favorite place to shop in Athens is the Ohio University College Bookstore,” Sophia Anness, a junior studying journalism, said. “The store has super cute OU crewnecks, hoodies and T-shirts. The store also sells textbooks for classes and a large amount of school supplies. In the basement, there is also a space with art supplies and a Greek life shop. There really is something for everyone.”
