To call or not to call...

It was a good idea at the time -

I'm on Court Street.

It is so tempting to pick up your cell phone and call friends in your directory just to let them know you love them. Or maybe you called to share an intoxicated secret with your sister, to tell your ex-boyfriend to come over and watch a movie to meet up with that girl you met at the C.I. three weeks ago or to order food from the poor soul who answers the phone at D.P. Dough.

My boyfriend's friend recently called him (most assuredly drunk) to say, What are you getting into tonight? Or should I say who are you getting into tonight?

Another one I like is, Are you drunk? to which the reply is always, No. Which then hopefully leads to saying something smoother than, Want to come over for a booty call?

One of my friends met a guy from Tennessee at a campground in Indiana. They put each other's number in their cell phone directories. My friend drunk dialed Tennessee Thursday night and told him he had to come visit her at OU. He was on her doorstep less than a day later with an overnight bag ready to party. I don't think that's what she really intended to happen.

Another one of my girlfriends tends to black out occasionally. Well, okay, more than occasionally. But, when she wakes up the next morning, the very first thing she does to jog her memory of the night before is to go through her outgoing calls on her cell phone. Lucky for her, she has unlimited nights and weekends.

If you're not waiting for food delivery, the only other drunken logical reason I can think of for not going to bed is because you're alone -
