Today is Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. Here’s what you need to know:
Good morning,
Are you a big wine drinker? Well, you’re probably going to be saving some money now.
The price of wine is expected to drop the lowest it has been in the past five years because of a surplus of California grapes. That, combined with a decrease of people drinking wine, should have wine drinkers expecting to pay a little less for their next bottle.
In 2016, more efficient harvesting methods were adopted for grape vines, and they worked better than the vineyard farmers expected, according to CNN.
To bring balance back to wine prices, vineyards will need to farm fewer grape vines as the demand for wine decreases.
