WADSWORTH - A 16-year-old was charged with involuntary manslaughter yesterday in the weekend stabbing death of a 15-year-old in a parking lot of this Akron suburb.
Jeffrey Rowe, of Wadsworth, also was charged with evidence tampering in the death of Matthew Twigg, a freshman at Wadsworth High School.
Medina County Juvenile Court Judge John Lohn ordered Rowe, held in juvenile detention, to await another court hearing Thursday. No plea was entered.
Prosecutor Dean Holman declined to comment on the evidence but said the investigation showed the death was not intentional.
Twigg was discovered after police received an emergency call Saturday afternoon about an injured person outside the GenFed Credit Union branch.
A weapon that may have been used in the stabbing was found, police Sgt. Randy Reinke said.
Wadsworth High School Principal Roger Cramer said students were offered the chance to meet with counselors yesterday.
