Ohio (3-18, 1-5 Mid-American Conference) is scheduled to play against the Bowling Green Falcons (5-12, 2-4 MAC) this coming weekend in a three-game conference series starting Friday, March 20, with the first pitch thrown at 3 p.m.
The Bobcats previously played against another MAC opponent in the form of the Western Michigan Broncos at home, falling 0-3 in that series. Likewise, the Falcons are coming off a conference series against the Miami RedHawks and went 1-2 in three contests.
Historically, Ohio has lost more games to Bowling Green than it has won. The Bobcats are 22-36 all-time in matchups, with their last series being a 3-0 sweep for the visiting Falcons at Bob Wren Stadium in Athens. The Bobcats’ most recent victory was during the 2024 season while on the road.
These two teams are currently in a scenario no team wants to be in. According to the official 2026 MAC standings for baseball, Bowling Green sits at eighth place with Ohio near the bottom of the list, just ahead of the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

Looking at Bowling Green:
The Falcons are led by coach Hallock, who was named the 2024 MAC Coach of the Year for leading his ballclub to a 33-20 record, 24-6 conference record and securing the MAC Championship title in an 8-6 win over Eastern Michigan in the regular season.
Flash-forward to this year; it’s clear that perhaps Bowling Green could be in a state of rebuilding with how its season has played out so far. They have played against some tougher competition and have been on the road all season. Perhaps the Falcons will get a confidence boost this weekend when they’re finally playing at home.
Looking at Ohio:
Given what the present record is, the Bobcats are just trying to perform their best with first-year head coach Andrew See overseeing what needs to change for Ohio baseball.
The Bobcats have been inconsistent on both sides of the ball all season long. They have come close in certain games where everything almost comes together, and maybe that can happen this weekend against Bowling Green. It would do wonders to keep MAC play rolling with a series win over a solid Bowling Green team.
