Ohio (12-7 overall, 6-3 Mid-American Conference) will be traveling to Oxford to face rival Miami (17-4 overall, 9-0 MAC) in the Battle of the Bricks Saturday.
The Bobcats are coming off two straight losses against two MAC rivals, Toledo and UMass. This is the first time this season they have carried a losing streak. The loss against UMass pushed Ohio into fourth place in the MAC standings, while Miami stayed in first.
Ohio has started to improve its rebounding skills, which could play a big role against Miami. The bench shone against UMass, scoring over half the team’s points. Gigi Bower had 17, and Monica Williams had 11 points. The Bobcats’ defense will also need to shine against the RedHawks to pull off a win.

Miami Notes
The RedHawks are having a superb season, going undefeated in the MAC. The team is also carrying a winning streak of 10, with it's last loss occurring Dec. 14 at Colorado. Coach Glenn Box led the team to a 19-12 record last season, earning them a spot in the WNIT for the first time since their 2018-19 season.
Junior forward Amber Tretter has had an All-MAC Honorable Mention the past two seasons and is on pace to earn another one this season. Besides averaging 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, she has a 50.5% field-goal rate and a 34.8% three-point rate. In the team’s most recent game at NIU, she had 17 points, with 12 of them coming off two-point baskets. She also had six rebounds.
Sophomore guard Tamar Singer is making 42.5% of her attempted field-goal shots and 29.2% of her three-point shots. Against NIU, she had eight points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Last season, she averaged 6.3 points, 2.2 steals and 4.2 assists per game.
Sophomore forward Ilse de Vries, standing in at 6 '3”, posts a 49.5% field-goal rate and a 37.2% three-point rate, giving her an average of 12.2 points per game. Against Ball State on the 24th, she scored 23 points for the RedHawks, while also pulling down seven rebounds, all coming defensively.
This is a fairly young team, but they have been great so far in MAC play. The RedHawks will be a challenge for a Bobcat team coming off two straight losses.
