After two years of construction, the Ohio University golf course reopened on Sunday, June 29.
Serafin Golf Design Inc. did the $1.46 million redesign, which moved four holes to the South side of the Hocking River, and completely reformatted the five on the North side.
The new course is a nine-hole par 35 featuring 31 bunkers and four water hazards.
Course designer Barry Serafin said the new design helped open up the course.
Previous university construction, such as the building of Ping recreation center, had altered the shape of the golf course; something Serafin said was hurting the course length.
