Ohio University Police Department officers responded to a series of trashcan and dumpster fires Oct. 31, all of which occurred just minutes apart.
At about 3:11 a.m., firefighters extinguished a fire in two dumpsters located at Riverpark Towers. Seven minutes later, residents extinguished trashcan fires outside of Shively and Perkins Halls, according to an OUPD report.
Two recycling containers outside of Johnson Hall were extinguished by firefighters at 3:33 a.m. A dumpster outside of the Oasis was extinguished minutes later, according to the report.
Two trash dumpsters behind the Bentley Annex also were extinguished by firefighters at 4:30 a.m.
No damage was reported in any of the fires, and the cases are under investigation.
