The Ohio University Police Department fields 11th rape report of academic year

The alleged incident is the second report of rape the department has received in a week.

The Ohio University Police Department fielded its 11th report of rape Wednesday since the beginning of Fall Semester.

A female Ohio University student reported unwanted sexual contact from someone she knew, according to the police report.

The report indicates that the alleged incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in Ryors Hall and that she reported it at about seven hours later.

The report is the 26th report of a sex-related crime OUPD or the Athens Police Department has received this academic year and the sixth alleged rape reported to OUPD this semester, according to previous Post reports.

The alleged incident is the second alleged rape reported to OUPD this week. A woman reported Friday that someone she knew raped her at Adams Hall between 12:30 and 1 a.m. that morning, according to a previous Post report.
