New food options spice up meals

If you have had your fill of hamburgers or the Hammy Sammy is making you a little queasy - there is hope for meal planners around Ohio University.

With the newly-renovated Boyd Grab 'n' Go come a few added food options that are actually, well, good.

In its opening week I did some in-depth journalistic field reporting and was able to sample the new menu items Boyd has to offer.

As you enter the new Grab 'n' Go you can choose between the regular, hot lunch that is being served in dining halls that day, or order from the daily array of panini sandwiches, wraps, salads, and sushi.

The panini sandwiches stuff various meats and cheeses between two thick slices of hearty grilled bread. They are not only satisfying to eat, but downright fun to say.

Boyd has gotten creative with their wraps, rolling tasty combinations of lunch meats and veggies in spinach, sun-dried tomato or the traditional corn tortillas.

The sushi, provided by local restaurant Lui Lui, retains its freshness and makes for a great light lunch.

The décor is much improved. A Panera-esqe setting and a lounge-type seating area outside the Grab 'n' Go are part of the new renovations. They work so well you might be able to pull off eating here as a cheap date.

The only problems the new Boyd Grab 'n' Go seems to have are a lack of drink options and this restrictive rule that you are only allowed one entree and two sides. A drink is a side.
