Ohio center feels change in his sole

Delvar Barrett is no stranger to pain. Pain in Barrett's size 16 sneakers forced him off The Convo floor and onto an exercise bike to rehabilitate for much of the final three months of last season.

Tuesday, Barrett could be seen doing The Running Man dance as he loosened for practice, a far cry from the end of last season.

A lighter, quicker Barrett will roam the lane this season for Ohio thanks to specially designed orthotic inserts that will more evenly distribute the impact of his weight across his feet, which are unusually flat, Ohio coach Tim O'Shea said.

I think it's a joy for him to be able to play pain-free. Only somebody who's been an athlete that's had an injury can appreciate how good it feels once you've been hurt not to have pain anymore

O'Shea said. The doctor was amazed he'd been able to compete at all especially at the Division-I level in basketball.
