Today, the Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards. The nominations varied from up-and-comers Julia Michaels (2 nominations), SZA (5 nominations) and Khalid (5 nominations), to seasoned artists such as Kendrick Lamar (7 nominations) and Bruno Mars (6 nominations). Though the academy rightfully nominated some big-name artists, it goes without arguing that they definitely left out some key players in the music industry. Here’s some thoughts on the nominations:

Songwriters who master the art of emotions are few and far between. Dr. Dog, however, has taken its talents and honed them in to create a very specific type of music.
