This year’s Super Bowl was without a doubt the single greatest game of professional football which I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. The game had everything you could want on America's most important unofficial holiday; including an unbelievable comeback to take the game into overtime. Furthermore, the game featured inhuman displays of athletic prowess, a clear hero and a clear villain (you know who you are, Boston) and more drama than the bard could have mustered had he scripted it himself. The match was truly a sight to behold but between the start of the fourth quarter and the Patriots ultimate victory in overtime, I came to realize the extreme degree to which I simultaneously love and hate the Patriots.

I HATE OUTLET MALLS. I hate them with a fiery passion. I hate Saks Off 5th. I hate the Under Armor outlet. I even hate the Nike store. From concept through praxis, the whole affair offends me. Frankly, outlet malls are an abomination, and I look forward to the day they are inevitably driven from this earth by the internet. My objections to these odious amalgamations of capitalism and middle-class desperation are too numerous to lay out in full at this juncture. However, in this article, I intend to elucidate a few, starting with the physical and moving on to the more intangible.

On Aug. 11, ESPN launched WWE on ESPN, an entire division exclusively dedicated to reporting on professional wrestling. The launch of this new section is but an extension of ESPN’s existent WWE coverage, which has been expanding for quite some time now.

You have been lied to. From childhood, you have been taught that every human life is inherently valuable. This notion was constantly drilled into you by your parents, your religion, your government and your society until you accepted it as gospel and it became a part of you. You have been lied to. Human life is not inherently valuable.

Last week I talked about my least favorite drunk food locations. To counterbalance that, this week I'll talk about what I, personally, consider to be the crème de la crème of 2 a.m. eateries:

In last week’s presidential debate, there was much discussion regarding energy policy. This discussion focused on issues such as climate change, investment in renewable energy resources and the role of fossil fuels going forward. As can be expected in a US presidential debate, this discussion was shallow, yielding only a few opportunities for the candidates to take pot shots at each other. The debate also touched on nuclear issues; specifically, proliferation and the Iran nuclear deal. However, neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton even breathed a mention of the most important nuclear issue: nuclear energy.

Robin Williams once said, "No matter what people tell you, worlds and ideas can change the world." In 1687, Isaac Newton changed humanity’s understanding of the physical world with the publication of Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which laid out his laws of motion.

Just 17 days after the inauguration of the 114th Congress, President Barack Obama delivered a State of the Union address before a joint session. In this address, he warned, “No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change.” These words ought to have been heeded. These words ought to have provoked immediate and radical action. These words ought to have been the beginning of a solution. These words were ignored.

If there was a drug that made you better at your job, better able to provide for your family and allowed you to turn your greatest dreams into reality, would you take it? For me, the answer is clear: yes.

As a child, I knew I was going to go to college. My father was the son of immigrants and had worked a trade since the day he graduated high school. For him, the American dream is about generational progress; he would do better than his father and I would do better than him. He would marry into a prominent and well educated family and he would dedicate his whole self to his wife and children: working 50-60 hour weeks despite a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis and constant, crippling pain.
