47th and 48th Annual Athens International Film and Video Festival all day, hosted at the Athena Cinema, 20 S. Court St. Combining the previously canceled festival with this year's event has led to more than 500 films being screened. Athens Area Stand Down from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Athens County Fairgrounds, 286 W. Union St. They will distribute pre-packaged supplies and community partners service information. The public, veterans and those experiencing homelessness or at-risk are welcome. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., it will be veterans only.

The Jellyfish Garden: a plastic bag art installation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by the Office of Sustainability at the Athens County Courthouse, 8 E. Washington St. Campus Recycling & Zero Waste will have an art installation at the Athens County Courthouse to encourage others to limit their use of single-use plastics.
