Grammy-nominated rapper B.o.B has had such a busy year, he barely noticed when he hit it big.
Since the first number fest in 2001, the outdoor festival’s founders have produced similar events throughout the country. Last month’s AWOL Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C., for instance, hosted 4,100 people and performances from Mike Posner and Matt and Kim.
As a former intern at Interscope Records, Far East Movement’s Kevin “Kev Nish” Nishimura saw firsthand the way industry executives can shape and mold an innocent artist into the next big pop star.
With four weeks until graduation, Ohio University senior Amy Schmidbauer has a lot on her to-do list: See a ghost at The Ridges, get a tattoo, snag an Athens block.
Almost two months after Ohio University’s Vice President for Student Affairs Kent Smith tweeted that rapper B.o.B would perform at The Convo, the lineup has been finalized.
As touring musicians do, Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler have traveled the world, soaking up the energy in downtown venues packed with fans of their band, Over the Rhine.
Before the curtain rises and rapper B.o.B takes the stage May 20 at The Convo, a sizable amount of time, money and labor must go toward transforming the circular arena into Athens’ most lucrative concert venue.
Those organizing B.o.B’s upcoming concert at Ohio University searched far and wide for an opening act, and they have finally settled on the Far East.
