Men's Golf: Ohio places 11th; Herriot places 5th in Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational

Ohio struggled to improve upon last year’s performance in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, as the Bobcats placed 11th in the tournament. It took place at Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston, West Virginia.

Ty Herriott shot a 207(-3) for the tournament, which tied him for the third-best overall score in program history.

Herriott broke out early and didn’t look back on the first day of play, shooting a 70(E) through the first round of 18 holes and a career-best 65(-5) in the second round. Herriott's 65 also tied him for the second-best round in program history.

As a team, Ohio finished the tournament with a final score of 875(+35), a steep decrease from their score of 858(+6) a year ago.

After the first day, Ohio stood in 11th place with a score of 292(+12) in the first round and a 290(+10) in the second round. The Bobcats failed to move up in the standings during the final round, finishing with 293(+13).

The Bobcats will compete in the Eastern Kentucky University’s Intercollegiate tournament  Sept. 17-18 at The University Club in Richmond, Kentucky.
