Protestors gather around courthouse, show support for Palestine

Protestors gathered outside the Athens County Courthouse, located at 8 E. Washington St., Friday to show support for Palestinians amid Israel’s war on Gaza. The protest follows a previous demonstration held in October by Athens community members at the same location. Around 100 people led chants, gave speeches and peacefully protested. Journalism and the First Amendment (presented by CWRU School of Law, First Amendment Clinic)

The training was designed for journalists and presented by The First Amendment Clinic at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Topics covered in the workshop include: Editorial Discretion & Prior Restraint (5:02-36:19), Student Speech (36:58-1:06:25), Court Access (1:07:48-1:39:07), Your Rights To Gather News (1:40:10-2:16:22), and Defamation (2:16:46-2:41:15).
