Journalism and the First Amendment (presented by CWRU School of Law, First Amendment Clinic)

The Post in partnership with The Athens County Independent co-hosted, "Journalism and the First Amendment". The training was designed for journalists and presented by The First Amendment Clinic at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Topics covered in the workshop include: Editorial Discretion & Prior Restraint (5:02-36:19), Student Speech (36:58-1:06:25), Court Access (1:07:48-1:39:07), Your Rights To Gather News (1:40:10-2:16:22), and Defamation (2:16:46-2:41:15). The live stream and video of the event was made possible by the Revada Foundation, Tyler Weymouth Endowment.


FabFitFun collaborates with Letters of Love

FabFitFun held an event last Friday in collaboration with Letters of Love, an organization dedicated to spreading kind letters to children in need. Students got to create their own letters for children and pick out a free beauty sample at their booth. Protestors gather for Trump, Palestine during Biden’s East Palestine visit

President Joe Biden visited the site of the disastrous Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine for the first time more than a year after the accident to give an update on the work done cleaning the chemicals spilled. The train was carrying the toxic chemical vinyl chloride, and the spill caused officials to order many in East Palestine to evacuate. A large controlled burn was done to prevent a larger explosion from the train cars. Residents of the village, with a population of just under 5,000, have reported respiratory issues and rashes following the burn.
