Jeff Maiden has made an issue of two things in the race for engineer.
One, he has questioned where Archie and Judy Stanley live. I have been to the house they live in on Peach Ridge. I have visited their daughter and her family’s home in Canal Winchester. Archie and Judy both work in Athens. Jon and Dannielle both work in the Columbus area. End of story.
Two, he says Archie is a part-time engineer. He was there both times I took my grandchildren to tour the new facility. One of my grandkids is interested in engineering, and Archie gave him a tour and explanation of what the county engineer does.
By the way, that new facility was entirely paid for with proceeds from the sale of the old facility. Not a bad accomplishment. Look at the new businesses and jobs that sale created, increasing our tax base.
These issues are made up to distract from Archie’s 32-year record of managing the county’s roads and bridges successfully and from his long standing history of fiscal responsibility.
Issues should be based on facts, and the facts are not on Jeff Maiden’s side. Archie Stanley for county engineer.
