Donkey to bring folk to its Saturday night

Donkey Coffee is bringing some of best folk in town Saturday night.

Donkey Coffee and Espresso, 17 W. Washington St., is no stranger to a strong selection of local music, and they are bringing some of best folk in town Saturday night.

This Saturday at 8 p.m., Donkey will host Jewel of the Rustbelt, The Mimi Hart Trio and Laurie Rose Griffith & Peter Mealy under its roof for an evening of tunes and local flavor.

“This show is loaded with some of the most respected musicians around, and they all have strong connections to the area,” said Troy Gregorino, booking manager for Donkey Coffee.

Thanks to Donkey’s small, comfortable environment, the show will offer casual listeners a connection to the music they wouldn’t get otherwise.

“There’s definitely a more personal feel with these kind of events,” Gregorino said. “When they engage with the audience, there tends to be a connection and a relationship with the audience that I really find appealing.”

Thanks to the manner and craft of the music, though, it’s a show that appeals to all audiences, perfect for a Dad’s Weekend-type activity.

“This is a craftsmanship and an artistry that appeals to a wide audience,” Gregorino said.
