Two weeks ago, This Is Us showed Kevin (Justin Hartley) spiraling into alcoholism. Last week, the story of how Kate (Chrissy Metz) lost her baby was revealed. And in the mid-season finale, Randall's (Sterling K. Brown) foster daughter Deja (Lyric Ross) was taken back to her mother and the three stories finally came to the same point in time. Just like most mid-season finales, This Is Us ended with a bang — or rather the click of handcuffs.

Kevin’s story ended with him driving from Pittsburgh to Randall’s home in New York. When he arrives, he is a disheveled mess and finds out Kate lost the baby. The first thing he does is reach for a bottle of vodka. His second instinct is to flee the scene in his fast car.

Randall calls Kate to talk to her and then goes to look for his girls Tess (Eris Baker) and Annie (Faithe Herman). Tess is nowhere to be found — until she pops her head up from the backseat of Kevin’s car.

Kevin is driving drunk and way too fast. Tess tells him to slow down, but not in time for a cop to clock him. Kevin is pulled over and arrested for drunken driving.

Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) breaks the news to Randall who says, “I’m going to kill him.”

The last image is of Tess crying in the backseat and Kevin being held against a police car.

Though a lot of major events happened in the last three episodes of NBC’s hit drama, this incident takes the cake. It just shows that Kevin is totally out of control and could possibly lose the one thing he has — his family.
