Twitter tested a feature to unfollow people; Ohio to play Howard in Saturday’s season-opening game

Today is Friday, August 31, 2018. Here’s what you need to know:

Good morning,

Twitter announced Wednesday it tested a new feature that gives suggestions to users on who to unfollow.

Yes, you read that correctly. The social media company confirmed that it did a limited test with a small amount of users for a few days after some users posted screenshots on Twitter.

A Twitter spokesperson said in a statement to Slate that the company wants people to have relevant timelines, and one way of doing that is by having users unfollow people who they don’t engage with regularly.
