The NFL regular season kicks off tonight; Nelsonville prison to be converted to rehab facility

Today is Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. Here’s what you need to know:

Good morning,

It’s been 157 days since the last NFL game, and football fans will finally be rewarded for their patience tonight.

The NFL regular season kicks off at 8:20 p.m. on NBC as the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons. The game will be a rematch of last season’s NFC divisional round playoff game in which the Eagles defeated the Falcons 15-10.

The Eagles will be without a few key players, so make sure to double-check your fantasy football roster before kickoff. Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Eagles while starter Carson Wentz recovers from a torn ACL. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is also sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Despite the injuries to their starting lineup, the Eagles still enter the game as 2.5 point favorites.
