Today is Friday, Aug. 30, 2019. Here’s what you need to know:
Alright, alright, alright, it seems that Matthew McConaughey can do it all.
The Oscar-winning actor and Texas native has taken a job as a professor in the Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas, where he has served as a visiting instructor since 2015. One notable course that he will teach during the Fall 2019 term is a “Script to Screen” course, which involves a curriculum that McConaughey developed and covers the intimate details of film production.
The students will also have plenty of opportunities to connect with notable people that McConaughey knows from the course of his career. In his previous semesters, he has recruited filmmakers from films he’s appeared in such as Harmony Korine, Yann Demange, Jeff Nichols and Gary Ross.
If you’re wondering why the sudden career change, McConaughey said that, “the elements of truth and genuine joy for the process are timeless. That will always be our classroom focus.”
