Chipotle is back in the headlines with a new protein option: carne asada.
The marinated steak will accompany the company’s other options, which includes chicken, steak, carnitas, barbacoa and the vegetarian option, sofritas.
Carne asada is the first new meat Chipotle has added since it reintroduced chorizo in 2018. It performed “incredibly well” in the three American cities it was tested in. Chipotle has also approved the steak for three popular diets — ketogenic, Paleo and Whole30.
