Jeff Bezos gives $10 billion to fight climate change; OUPD hired two new police officers

Good morning, 

Jeff Bezos announced he is giving $10 billion to help fight climate change. 

In an Instagram post on Monday, Bezos announced he is launching the Bezos Earth Fund and will begin issuing grants this summer. 

“We can save Earth,” Bezos said. “It’s going to take collective action from big companies, small companies, nation states, global organizations and individuals.”

The Amazon CEO and richest man in the world has an estimated net worth of nearly $130 billion. His commitment to fight climate change will account for about 7.7% of his wealth.
