Budweiser will use Super Bowl commercial money for COVID-19 vaccine awareness; student petitions urge OU to keep satisfactory grading system this spring

Today is Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021. Here’s what you need to know.

Good morning,

Commercials are an iconic aspect of what is arguably the most important football game of the year: the Super Bowl. Budweiser has run a commercial during the Super Bowl since 1983. However, this year, it will not.

Instead of putting a large sum of money toward an ad, Budweiser will donate advertising dollars. The money will go toward the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative. By taking this action, Budweiser hopes to raise awareness for COVID-19 vaccines.

Coca-Cola, Audi and Avocados from Mexico are among other veteran advertisers that will be sitting out during Super Bowl LV.
