Another person was reported to have died from COVID-19 in Athens County on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 13 in the county.
A woman in her 80s was confirmed dead, according to data from the Ohio Department of Health. The woman was the fourth person to have died in the 80+ age range from COVID-19 in Athens County.
Of the previous deaths, four were in the 70–79 age range, four were in the 60–69 age range and one was in the 50–59 age range.
The last COVID-19 death was confirmed Feb. 8, according to a previous Post report. That death was of a woman in the 60–69 age group.
There are currently 4,263 cases of COVID-19 in Athens County. Of those cases, 553 are active.
