Weekender Briefs: Go paintballing at Bigfoot Hollow, look at cars at Athens’ Cars & Coffee event

Friday, June 25

PRIDE Buttons will be handed out at the Athens Library, 30 Home St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place every day at the same time until June 30. Those who go are able to pick up a PRIDE button, choosing from various flags and pronouns.

A Fiber Art Class hosted by Athens County Public Libraries at 12 p.m. Head to Athens Public Library where Lanna Galloway will be experimenting with metallic threads in this class. The class and its series was inspired by learning how to use Kreinik Metallic Thread.

Storytimes celebrating LGBTQ+ identities will be hosted online every Friday during June. Stories will be read by members of the LGBTQ+ community in Athens County. The videos will be available on the Athens County Public Library Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Saturday, June 26

Paintball at Bigfoot Hollow anytime from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone interested can enjoy a friendly, active game of paintball. Those over eight years of age can play competitively, after signing a safety waiver. There is no admission fee but paintballs need to be paid for. All details can be found on Bigfoot Hollow’s website.

Sunday, June 27

Athens Cars & Coffee will be hosted from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Those interested are able to meet at Athena Grand, 1008 E. State St., and enjoy looking at different cars from around and beyond the Athens area. The event will recur the last Sunday of every month.
