Celebrities are known to lack privacy, and Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are no different. In March, they purchased a $5.35 million house, and their neighbors got a little too close. Once they got a little closer than they should have, these neighbors got a voice warning to not get any closer.
“A neighbor approached the house and got a voice warning about not passing onto the property after getting too close to the house,” a nearby neighbor said in an exclusive by Page Six.quoted
The couple purchased the house months before they were even married. This lakefront house is in Bratenahl, Ohio, a few miles from Cleveland Heights. With Kelce being an Ohio native, it makes sense for the couple to have a property there. This mansion is 21,140 square feet and has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
Once a ballroom, there is a dedicated game room in the house. They also have a home theater.
A real estate agent in the area, Patricia Knight Gary, had some thoughts on the area’s security system.
“It does have a small police force that gauge and patrol the village on a regular basis,“ Knight Gary said to Page Six. "And then even at the condos (down the street), there is 24-hour security, so I would anticipate that there might be some discussion in terms of increasing that."
One of these ideas by the Swift-Kelce household is installingan eight-foot wall around the property. This plan was rejected by the local building board. The planned wall conflicted with local regulations, such as required openness and a shorter design.
This is not the only home the couple owns. Swift herself has four homes spanning Tennessee, California, Rhode Island and New York. Travis Kelce owns a main home in Kansas City and has ties to Florida, where his mother lives.
The couple has also recently welcomed a dog into their family. A white, fluffy female Samoyed was showcased in a Tommy Hilfiger ad Kelce recently starred in.
As Kelce enters his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs, many speculate this may be his last one. This would leave him with a lot of free time to spend with his wife and dog, potentially a future family. Increasing the security in their home would likely be the next step in a calmer life.
Obviously, it is uncertain where the couple would end up living most often. Kelce grew up in Cleveland, but Swift has workedn Nashville since 2004. The singer may want to continue her career in one of the most musical cities in the country, or she will retire with her husband and live in the private lakefront mansion.
Hopefully, the couple will be able to have privacy in their retirement or even just regular lives. The high security may be seen as overbearing, but as long as it does not bother people, it works for the couple.
