A timeline of Emma Chamberlain’s YouTube channel from a longtime subscriber

Emma Chamberlain, a 20-year-old YouTuber, has taken the world by storm.

Chamberlain has been involved in the YouTube community for some time now, starting her channel just before she was a junior in high school in 2017.

High school can be a transformative time for many people, and Chamberlain’s viewers have been able to watch her grow up as both an individual and in her career.

In the beginning, Chamberlain took basic YouTube videos like try-on hauls or lookbooks and made them her own.

Chamberlain’s personality began to shine as she posted more vlogs of her doing simple things like getting iced almond milk lattes or thrifting.

Chamberlain’s unique and quirky editing style helped add more humor to her videos and made them stand out from other vlogs on YouTube. Her editing style of jump cuts, zoom-ins and distorted filters quickly became adapted by other YouTubers as well.

As Chamberlain’s channel began to take off, her videos had a more relaxed feel, as if she just turned on the camera and talked to her subscribers like old friends while she did different day-to-day teenager activities.

However, Chamberlain’s channel became more demanding as she gained subscribers. At this time, Chamberlain dropped out of high school and continued her education via online schooling.

From “poopy” jackets to Chapstick obsessions, many other teenagers have been inspired by Emma Chamberlain and her sense of style.

Companies like Dote, a social shopping app, began to notice as Chamberlain gained more popularity.

Chamberlain’s “Dote era” on YouTube involves many collabs with other YouTubers which the internet has deemed the “Dote girls,” such as Ellie Thuman, Hannah Meloche, Marla Catherine, Avrey Ovard and many more.

During this era of Chamberlain’s YouTube channel, she began to collaborate with more creators like Weston and Kalynn Koury, and she even went to Coachella.

One of the most influential changes in Chamberlain’s YouTube career would have to be her move to Los Angeles at just 17 years old. At this time, she began to hang out with “The Sister Squad,” which was made up of Ethan and Grayson Dolan, James Charles and Chamberlain.

At this time, many people claim they missed the “old Emma” and that she had changed too much since moving to LA. However, Chamberlain has since disclosed that this was a very difficult time in her life due to the pressures of living in LA and maintaining a successful YouTube channel.

Another significant event of Chamberlain’s YouTube career is when she was invited to Paris for Fashion Week by Louis Vuitton in 2019.

From Cosmopolitan covers to her own coffee company, Chamberlain Coffee, Chamberlain has made a name for herself beyond the YouTube community.

As the pandemic hit, many influencers had more difficulty producing content for their followers.

During this time, many people also had plenty of time for self-reflection and making lifestyle changes.

The pandemic also marked a new chapter for Chamberlain’s YouTube channel.

Instead of elaborating on pulling all-nighters, Chamberlain has focused on meditation, reading, journaling and many more healthy habits.

“Cooking with Emma” videos went from a teenage girl baking things in her apartment to a young adult making healthy, nourishing meals for herself in her home.

We all had time to grow up when facing a pandemic, and Chamberlain’s subscribers have been able to see how far she has come since her first San Francisco lookbook video

Just last month, Chamberlain’s YouTube channel took a turn.

Instead of clickbait video titles in all caps, her videos now contain simple, one-word titles all lowercase.

Even the change of titles gives the channel page a more peaceful look, which continues when you click on one of these videos.

While Chamberlain’s previous videos have been more chaotic, these newer videos are more quiet and feel almost cinematic.

The videos are full of calm, tranquil music and slow zoom-ins of people going about their day.

These new videos romanticize daily life and are something you can simply lose yourself in as soon as you press play.

Many subscribers are eager to see what is next for the young YouTube star, especially after her attendance at the Met Gala in September.

As Chamberlain continues to grow, both in success and self, her audience is still able to grow with her.
