Police Blotter: Deputies respond to unauthorized driver, mysterious screams

Not Your Car

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unauthorized person driving a vehicle. Deputies made contact with the individual and told them the vehicle had to be returned to the owner. 

The legal vehicle owner retrieved the vehicle with no further incident.

Go Home

Deputies responded to State Route 329 in regards to a trespassing complaint, according to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, deputies found the reported individual and issued them a trespass complaint. 

The individual was advised to leave the property and not return.

Shots Fired

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an individual being shot while walking their dogs on Buckley Run Road, in Athens. 

This is currently under investigation.

Crashed & Stolen

Deputies responded to Glouster in relation to a report of a stolen vehicle crashed in the village, according to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office. On scene, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was investigating. 

Shortly after deputies arrived on the scene, Glouster Police arrived and the investigation was turned over to that department. 

Deputies then returned to patrol.

Mysterious Screams

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of screaming at a residence on Baker Road, in Athens. When deputies arrived they determined the residence was abandoned.
