Two additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Athens City-County Health Department on Monday, bringing the total death count in the county to 104.
The health department also reported 126 new cases of the coronavirus, marking 520 total active cases. That total is the latest in an upward trend since Nov. 29.
Despite the trend, the health department reported that 33,972 people in the county have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That number makes up 52% of the county’s population.
So far, 31,668 people, or 48.48% of the county, are fully vaccinated against the virus.
