Baseball: Ohio looks to get back on track against Bowling Green

Ohio is coming off of a dreadful weekend where it dropped three-straight games against Southern Illinois and then a mid-week matchup with Kentucky. Ohio (2-9) will attempt to get back on track with its first Mid-American Conference weekend series of the year. 

Starting Friday, Ohio will play three against Bowling Green (2-8) as both teams will work to improve upon their two victories to start the season. Bowling Green was also on the wrong side of a four-game sweep last weekend versus Evansville.

Ohio has historically struggled against Bowling Green. It is 19-30 over the team’s 49-game history. The last time the two played was a two-game series in March 2022, where the two squads split. In the Bobcats' win over Bowling Green last year they put up 21 runs on 17 hits en route to a 21-6 victory. 

Player to Watch

A.J. Rausch — the Redshirt Sophomore from Powell, Ohio, had six hits against Southern Illinois and now leads the Bobcats in batting average at .357. Rausch also has a team-high seven doubles with nine RBIs and a .595 slugging percentage.
