5 of the best celebrity stylist collaborations right now

Last Sunday, the 96th Academy Awards ceremony honored the best talent in the film industry from the previous year. These honors concluded one of the decade's most engaging awards seasons, from record-breaking wins at the Grammys to celebrating one of 2023's biggest pop culture phenomena, "Barbienheimer."

Amid the acclaim and buzz surrounding these awards and premieres, many celebrities strutted onto the red carpet with memorable looks created by innovative stylists. From Zendaya's acclaimed collaboration with Law Roach to Ilaria Urbinati's long collaborations with numerous Hollywood "it-men," there have been many memorable celebrity and stylist pairings in recent years.

Let's take a look at five pairings that continue to leave audiences in awe:

Andrew Mukamal and Margot Robbie

2023 saw the rise and continued domination of many movie stars, but none may have benefited more than Margot Robbie. Robbie co-produced and starred in Greta Gerwig's "Barbie," which earned $1.445 billion at the worldwide box office and led to Robbie's first Best Picture nomination as a producer at the Oscars. Amid this acclaim, Robbie also transformed her reception on the red carpet due to a fresh collaboration with stylist Andrew Mukamal.

Prior to Mukamal and Robbie's memorable collaborative stylings, fans joked about her "commitment to never serving" on social media. However, the highly-talked-about "Barbie" press tour looks had Robbie channeling vintage Barbie dolls on the red carpet.

At the London premiere, Mukamal styled Robbie in a custom champagne pink corseted gown from Vivienne Westwood with pearl accessories and pink satin gloves. The look was inspired by Barbie's 1960s "Enchanted Evening" edition. At the Los Angeles premiere, Mukamal took inspiration from the doll's "Solo in the Spotlight" look. Robbie stepped onto the premiere red carpet in a black sequin mermaid Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress with red accents.

Mukamal's work with Robbie has led her to become one of fashion's newest icons, bringing joy to many longtime fans of the Australian performer.

Eric Archibald and Megan Thee Stallion

Ever since 2019's warm weather season was dubbed a "Hot Girl Summer" by Megan Thee Stallion, the Houston rapper has continued to grace red carpets with distinct outfits primarily styled by Eric Archibald.

The special collaboration between Archibald and Megan dates back to 2021 when Megan attended her first Grammys award ceremony. Styled by Archibald, Megan was adorned in a bright orange Dolce & Gabbana bow gown and shoes with diamond jewelry. More recently, Megan attended Crunchyroll's 8th annual Anime Awards in a white and black corseted look referencing Bruno Bucciarati, a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Thanks to Archibald, Megan is one of the best-styled performers in music.

Law Roach and Zendaya

When it comes to iconic stylist and celebrity pairings, the collaboration between Law Roach and Zendaya first comes to mind for many fashion followers. The duo's connection runs deep, as Roach recently announced his retirement and named Zendaya his sole client moving forward. Zendaya is Roach's longest-running client and the two have been giving the public flawlessly executed looks since 2012.

Roach has worked with stars like Hunter Schafer, Lindsay Lohan and Bella Hadid, but he is most acclaimed for his unforgettable fashion moments with Zendaya. These range from her vintage and metallic silver robot look from Thierry Mugler's 1995 Couture collection for the premiere of "Dune: Part Two" in London to her monochromatic gray Fear of God suit at a 2022 For Your Consideration event for "Euphoria." At the 2019 Met Gala, Zendaya wore a custom Tommy Hilfiger Cinderella gown and Roach dressed as her fairy godmother and carried a wand to light up her dress.

As the two continue to dominate Hollywood red carpets, Zendaya's jaw dropping sense of fashion will cement her as one of this generation's top fashion icons.

Ryan Hastings and Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy has been a quiet fashion powerhouse since her breakthrough roles in "The Witch" (2015) and "The Queen's Gambit" (2020). This is partly due to the impeccable work of Ryan Hastings, whose work has extended to Mia Goth, Taylor Russell and Carey Mulligan.

At the London premiere of "Dune: Part Two," Hastings styled Taylor-Joy in an all-white Dior dress and hooded veil. In 2023, at the Los Angeles premiere of Illumination's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," Taylor-Joy channeled Princess Peach's sporty racing suit in an all-pink Dior jumpsuit.

Hastings and Taylor-Joy have proven to be silent assassins on the red carpet, and their pairing has remained an underrated collaboration in fashion.

Wayman + Micah with Colman Domingo & Da'Vine Joy Randolph

For many Black celebrities on the red carpet, the magnificent stylings from Wayman + Micah, the stylist duo of Wayman Deon and Micah McDonald, are the key to their stylish success.

The duo has styled many A-list celebrities in the past, such as Tessa Thompson, KeKe Palmer and Taraji P. Henson, but their recent collaborations with rising stars Colman Domingo and Da'Vine Joy Randolph have been memorable for all the right reasons.

Both Domingo and Randolph have dominated the recently concluded film awards season due to their respective roles in "Rustin'" and "The Holdovers" in charisma and style. Domingo was described as "setting the bar for men's fashion" by Vogue last week, while Randolph's vibrantly stunning pieces have matched her plethora of success and anticipation for what she will wear next.

From Domingo's gold coat and yellow-fused suit at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards to Randolph's shimmering baby blue column gown with matching fringe sleeves at the 96th Oscars, Wayman + Micah has proven to be a formidable force in current Hollywood fashion.
