Police Blotter: My leg, ‘breaking’ news

Wednesday, June 18

Narcotics found

The Adult Parole Authority received help with a compliance check at state Route 550 from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

Suspected narcotics were found, and a man was arrested and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail for APA violation.

Just in case I am framed

A man reported someone took his trash can to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

The caller’s goal was to inform deputies in case the trash was located somewhere with his name on it.

Friday, June 20

Hello? Hello? Hello?

A silent 911 call was made from The Plains to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

At the scene, a woman said her child was playing on the phone and made the call. Deputies determined everything was all right.

My leg

According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, a man accidentally gave himself a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his leg at a bike path near Hamley Run Road.

Deputies were able to stabilize the patient, who was transported by Athens County Emergency Medical Services.

Saturday, June 21

Get off my property, you dog!

A loose dog was reported to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office for chasing the complainant’s cattle located at Taylor Ridge Road in Glouster.

The area was patrolled, and the dog was not found.

Let’s gather around the campfire

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to assist the Ohio Department of Natural Resources with an unruly person at a Strouds Run State Park campsite.

Once deputies arrived, they did not find anyone at the campsite. After the arrival of ODNR, both groups patrolled the area to no success.

Sunday, June 22

Vehicle issues

A caller received a text about his vehicle at Fourth Street in The Plains being damaged while not home and reported it to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the vehicle had not been damaged, spoke with the person who was going to damage the vehicle and discovered the situation was a civil matter over vehicle parts.

Snake problems

According to a report to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, a copperhead snake was reported sitting next to a walkway at Lexington Avenue in Chauncey and help was needed removing it.

Deputies could not locate the snake.

Monday, June 23

‘Breaking’ news

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to The Plains for multiple break-ins.

It was reported the front doors of several residences were breached. The case is still being investigated.

Bag of issues

A dispute between construction workers was reported by a third party to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office and took place at Stoneybrook Drive in Athens.

Upon arrival, deputies found the involved individual had left the scene already. The incident was determined to be verbal, and no physical altercation occurred.

Tuesday, June 24

Perfect placement

According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor dispute over the placement of a mailbox took place at Bucks Lake Road in Guysville.

Once deputies arrived at the scene, they spoke to both parties and advised them to ask the post office about the placement of the mailbox.

Childcare

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a well-being check on two kids living at state Route 329 in Glouster.

Deputies made contact with the children and their father and found the kids to be fine.
