senior guard Tenishia

Benson lived up to her preseason all-MAC billing, joining conference elites Brittany Hedderson

(Buffalo), Alexis Rogers (Bowling Green), Tavelyn

James (Eastern Michigan) and Courtney Osborne (Miami) on the conference's first team.

Benson has been the team's unquestioned leader this season and has backed up that position with team-leading numbers. She has posted nearly 15 points and more than seven rebounds per game and has dropped more than 10 points in 24 of her 27 appearances.

No other Bobcat players received postseason honors.

Bowling Green's Curt Miller won coach of the year, while James took player of the year honors. Claire Jukubicek

of Northern Illinois earned the freshman of the year award, sixth man honors were taken by Jalisa

Olive of Central Michigan and Toledo's Andola

Dortch

was named the conference's top defensive player.

Ohio will face Central Michigan in the second round of the MAC tournament Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
