The recent Associated Press Top-25 ranking was released Sunday and Ohio can rest assured knowing the target on its back just grew larger.

Ohio enters it bye week as a member of the Top 25 for the first time since 1968.

The Bobcats (7-0, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) garnished 104 votes, enough to place them 25th in the country amongst Football Bowl Subdivision teams.

Ohio beat out Arizona State by 12 points to claim its place in the rankings, and trails 24th-ranked Boise State by 29 points.

The Bobcats join fellow Buckeye State teams Ohio State (7) and Cincinnati (21) in the Top 25. The state of Ohio has more teams in the Top 25 than any other.

Ohio's latest win was against Akron Saturday. The Bobcats beat the Zips 34-28. Read our game recap here.

Following their bye week, the Bobcats will face Miami Oct. 27. The RedHawks (3-4, 2-1 MAC) also have a bye this week.
