Junior Adele Sammons was announced MAC Defensive Player of the Week earlier on Tuesday.
Junior Adele Sammons was announced Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday after the Upminster, England-native helped Ohio hold no. 17 ranked Indiana to just one goal in 70 minutes.
Sammons notched two defensive saves at the 25th and 61st minute, respectively, as the Bobcats would lose to the Hoosiers, 1-0.
This is Sammons' first honor as MAC Defensive Player of the Week, as the recognition comes just a week after goalie Brittany Walker and freshman Megan Silveira earned MAC Defensive and Offensive Players of the week.
In the past three games, Ohio’s defense has only allowed one point in its homestand against Ohio State, Longwood and Indiana.
