The show is known for its comedy, while still highlighting the complexities of identity in black culture. An actress in Booty Candy says she loves the play becuase it spreads the message that you can't separate being black and queer, and it should be celebrated. Dr. Eddith Dashiell is retiring after 33 years of impactful work in journalism. For the past five years she's been the Director of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, and she was the first woman and African American to fill the role.
