Just a little too close
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report from The Plains for suspicious bikers who were close to a vehicle.
Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found the bikers were gone, located the vehicle and found gas cans and a gasoline spill near the vehicle’s fuel door.
Eventually, the vehicle’s owner arrived at the scene on a bike. The vehicle’s owner said the car ran out of gas, and he was trying to restart it.

According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported someone was using her computer.
The caller suspected someone was trying to get her personal information from the computer.

Sonny, can you give me some directions?
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a wrong-way driver on state Route 50.
Dispatch helped keep deputies and other agencies in the loop on the driver’s location. Just past Columbus Road, the Athens Police Department managed to get the vehicle to stop.
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on the scene, spoke to the driver and discovered the driver was an elderly man who was lost.
The vehicle was then parked, and the driver was helped home safely.
I’m just on the job
A man at Carroll Lane in The Plains was reported to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office for going door to door.
Deputies patrolled the area and made contact with the man. It was determined the man was working for the power and gas company and was attempting to talk to people about their bills.

Don’t be a litterbug
At state Route 33 and Upper River Road, a plastic object was in the road, according to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies patrolled the area to attempt to find the object, but the object was already removed.
Hey! I’m biking here!
A call was received by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office advising a silver sedan attempted to run a biker off the roadway.
Deputies attempted to locate the vehicle, but the vehicle was already gone.
Saturday, May 17
Suspicious gleam
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man in a suspicious silver sedan at Armitage Road in Athens.
Deputies patrolled the scene and were unable to locate the man.
Dispute at gas station
At the Valero gas station in The Plains, Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a dispute.
Deputies talked to all the parties involved and determined no criminal activity took place.
Sunday, May 18
Come get your drugs back
According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, a plastic bag was recovered by deputies containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine from a McDonald’s in The Plains.
The substance was put in evidence for destruction.
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office noted deputies will return the baggie to the owner if they have proof it is theirs.
Biking chaos
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of an individual riding a bike swerving into cars at May Avenue in Chauncey.
The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Don't you hear them?
At Mineral, a man reported hearing people talking on his security cameras, according to a report for the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded, found the scene undisturbed and patrolled the area.
Have you seen him?
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a Go Mart in Coolville in response to a missing child from Parkersburg, West Virginia.
After patrolling the area and speaking to Go Mart employees who said they did not see the child, deputies returned to patrol.
