Counseling and Psychological Services is partnering with THRIVE to host the Creative Coping Cafe in Lindley Hall room 052, located at 79 S. Court St. From 11 a.m. to noon, any student can drop in to learn a coping strategy with a primary focus on art, music or writing.

The Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts will be hosting the Early Autumn Jazz Showcase featuring student and faculty musicians. The performances will begin at 8 p.m. in Glidden Recital Hall, located at 3 Health Center Drive.

Wednesday, Sept. 30
The biannual 2026 OHIO Fall Career and Internship Fair gives students and alumni an opportunity to network with potential employers. Career Services is hosting this event in the Baker Center Ballroom, located at 1 Park Place. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Business professional attire is required.

Housing and Residence Life will host the Bobcat County Fair from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on West Green. All students are welcome to participate in carnival games where they can win prizes. Popcorn and cotton candy will be provided.

The Battle of the Greens live music competition will host its finale from 7-9 p.m. The show will be held at the Oval outside of the Living Learning Center on South Green. Winners of the competition will win the opportunity to perform at the K-Scope Festival in the spring.

Thursday, Oct. 1
The Ohio Vintage Expo is hosting vendors at Howard Park on North Green. From noon to 5 p.m., community members and students can shop through the racks of over 15 merchants.

The Kennedy Museum of Art will host an experimental sketching event in its galleries from 5:30-7 p.m. Prompts will guide artists to create pieces inspired by the museum’s exhibits. Materials like graphite and colored pencils will be provided by the Ohio Arts Council, though bringing a sketchbook is also suggested.

Friday, Oct. 2
Ohio University is on Fall Break, classes resume on Oct. 5. University offices remain open.
The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership is hosting the Leading for a Cause Retreat. Students will explore the community and connect with professionals while learning about sustainable business practices. The retreat starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. with lunch and dinner provided. All undergraduate students are able to register.

The Nelsonville Bigfoot Festival will be held at the Historic Nelsonville Public Square from 11:00 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Featured are researchers and speakers who have explored Bigfoot, cryptids and other folklore to share with the Appalachian community. On the first day, five speakers and four musical entertainers are scheduled. A two-hour Bigfoot spotting train boards at 6 p.m. The festival runs until Sunday, Oct. 4.

Saturday, Oct. 3
On Saturday and Sunday, the annual Appalachian Literary Arts and Storytelling Festival will be held at Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville, located at 52 Public Square. From 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., there will be speakers, performances, workshops and contests offered. Those interested in participating in awards are welcome to register for the Oct. 4. festival date.

The Athena Cinema, located at 20 S. Court St. will be screening The Met: Live in HD: Mozart’s Così Van Tutte from 12:55 p.m.-5 p.m. With a valid ID, OHIO students can get in for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Sunday, Oct. 4
All weekend, Ohio University Lancaster will be hosting a production of the Broadway version of Little Shop of Horrors. From 7-9 p.m., all are invited to view the screening at Wagner Theatre in Brasee Hall, located at 1570 Granville Pike. Shows will continue next weekend.
