OU employee injured in car crash

A three-car collision early Friday evening resulted in three individuals being injured and sent to a Columbus hospital — including Ohio University’s assistant director of benefits.

Krista A. Antle of OU’s Human Resources department was involved in a serious crash on State Route 682 at 5:20 p.m. Friday. Antle was driving about a half mile northwest from the Richland Avenue intersection when she tried to turn left onto North Ridge Road toward The Ridges, said Trooper Christopher Davis of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Athens division.

As Antle attempted to turn, Taylor F. Gwinn, who was driving behind Antle, struck Antle’s vehicle, according to a release from highway patrol.

Antle’s vehicle was then forced into the opposing lane and collided with Jacqueline L. White’s automobile. Gwinn’s vehicle also hit White’s car.

Medical personnel drove Antle and White to Grant Medical Center while Gwinn was flown by helicopter, Davis said.

Calls to the hospital were not returned.

Through a university spokeswoman, Human Resources officials declined to be interviewed on Antle’s injury.

Our thoughts are with Krista and her family at this time and we wish her a speedy and full recovery,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Linda Lonsinger in a statement.
