am the daughter of a Jewish man and although raised Catholic, I have always felt strongly about those who practice anti-Semitism. Like my father before me, I went to Ohio University and it was the best five years of my life. When you poured blood and defamed my college, you broke my heart. You made my college dirty with hate and left me sick with anger.
I am appalled by the actions of the current student senate president Megan Marzec. As everyone knows, she decided to take it upon herself to turn an act of charity into her own political statement. As student senate president she claims to be the voice of the student body on campus and should stand up for what the students believe and not what her personal feelings are.
I attended Ohio University in the fall of 2008 never knowing the connection I would have to it and the Athens Community. I left Athens in 2013 with two degrees, friendships that will last a lifetime, and immense pride in being a Bobcat. Like any other alumni, I constantly brag to coworkers how much better OU is than their school, wear green and white whenever I can, and find excuses, often, to travel back to the Harvard on the Hocking. Today is different for me. Today, I am not proud to be a Bobcat after seeing current Student Senate President Megan Marzec’s video.
