The U.S. Department of Education recently narrowed what the federal government defines as professional graduate degrees. The change, outlined in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which passed July 4, excludes degrees such as nursing, physical therapy, social work, education, accounting, audiology and architecture from the professional distinction.

Ohio House Bill 29 is a bipartisan proposed legislative bill that would ensure incarcerated women are provided the necessary feminine hygiene products and showers when needed. The bill passed the House in May and Ohio Senate in November and now awaits Gov. Mike DeWine’s signature.

In week 13 of the NFL season, the Cleveland Browns collapsed in a 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Before the Browns unraveled due to poor play-calling and fourth-down decisions, the halftime score was 10-8 in a winnable game. Central to this collapse is head coach Kevin Stefanski; he is holding the Browns back, and it’s time to fire him.

Ohio (2-6 overall) has had one of the toughest and most competitive schedules to start the 2025-26 season. The common factor in each of the first seven games for the Bobcats was the offensive production of senior guard Jackson Paveletzke, who was averaging over 18 points per game coming into Wednesday night's 79-57 win against Maine (0-9 overall).

Michael Jackson’s biopic, “Michael,” is set to release April 24, 2026, and the film will feature Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, portraying him. The trailer has already broken records, reaching 116 million views within the first 24 hours, demonstrating the anticipation a biopic can bring. In a world that craves connection, these films provide it. Biopics create a sense of closeness to people and are a bridge between artistic vision and facts; this makes them a crucial form of film.

Ohio (6-4 overall, 4-2 Mid-American Conference) will take on UMass (0-10 overall, 0-6 MAC) Tuesday in its final home game of the 2025 season with a lot on the line. The winless Minutemen will look to break the Bobcats' 12-game winning streak at Peden Stadium, the second-longest in the country, but the Bobcats are playing with everything on the line as they hope to win and keep their hopes alive to return to Detroit and defend last year's MAC title win.

On Nov. 12, the United States Mint produced the final batch of the one-cent coin, the penny. The currency was first minted in 1793 and bears the face of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, on one side. After 232 years, the one-cent coin has been discontinued.“God bless America, and we’re going to save the taxpayers $56 million,” Treasurer Brandon Beach said at the Mint before pressing the button to end the penny’s manufacturing.

Ohio (1-3 overall) suffered its second straight non-conference loss on the road Saturday afternoon against No. 12 Louisville (4-0). The Bobcats took another loss in their grueling opening slate, but showed real offensive ability against a premier team in the process, putting up 81 points in a 106-81 loss.
