Poor weather is ruining the vibe here at Ohio University. There have been numerous days where I’ve wanted to be outside and enjoy nature in Athens only to discover the frigid temperatures the second I step out of my dorm room. I’ve heard great things about the cherry blossoms at OU but have yet to experience them at their best. While this weather is expected in winter, the fact it is still occurring in spring makes it the worst season of the four.

March Madness is the best three weeks in college sports, hands down. What makes this sporting event so entertaining are the multiple Cinderella runs we see from colleges we have never heard of. However, there never seem to be any of these runs from the women's side of the tournament.

Who is the greatest basketball player of all time? People have pondered who the greatest of all time, or GOAT, is for decades due to the ever-changing landscape of the NBA. However, fans of the NBA can agree there are only two men who have the legacy to claim GOAT status: Michael Jordan and Lebron James.

With the regular season finished, Ohio (7-6, 3-4 Mid-American Conference) now shifts its focus toward the MAC Championship. With an outright win, it would be the Bobcats' first tournament win since 2001.

Spring is a very mixed season. I love the warmer weather and layering down, but I hate the spike in allergies in line with the season. However, I can deal with allergies as long as it means I can play my favorite sport, golf.

The drinking age in America needs to be lowered. Usually, I don’t get into the main point of my argument within the first sentence, but this isn’t one of my normal articles.

Ohio (6-5, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) looks to add another win under its belt as it hosts SIUE (6-4, 3-2 MAC). As the regular season comes to an end, both teams will look for better placement in the MAC tournament as both squads sit at the middle of the pack in the conference.

Despite my indifference to the dining halls here at Ohio University, I’ll admit they are my go-to when it comes to eating. The cost efficiency is unbeatable at Boyd or Nelson dining hall. I’d much rather spend one meal swipe at a dining hall than actual money on slightly better food.

Ohio (6-5, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) was able to rally after a strong start from Kent State (5-14, 1-4 Mid-American Conference) to win 34-15 in the rivalry named "The Grudge Match."

Over this past week, my column about fast food prices was met with some backlash. I was expecting this kind of pushback and was thrilled to see some engagement with my article. However, if I received this backlash earlier in the year, it for sure would’ve gotten the better of me.

Ohio (5-3, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) will travel to Cleveland in hopes of defeating Cleveland State (3-7, 1-2 Mid-American Conference). Ohio will be looking to build off the momentum gained in its 29-6 thrashing of George Mason while Cleveland State will hope to rebound after falling 28-15 to Northern Illinois.

Nothing defines a college student more than their craving for fast food, and I indulge in a plethora of fast-food eateries in the vicinity of Ohio University. One place I have a particular fondness for is Wendy’s. While it is not looked upon as fondly as McDonald’s, Wendy’s has been a favorite of mine ever since I was a little boy. I remember my mother taking me and my sister to Wendy’s many times, and every single time we went my order remained the same.

We are already 1/24 of the way through 2024 — isn’t that fun? Despite having been through only 18 days of the year, I bet most of you have already ditched your New Year’s resolutions. If you have not yet, don’t worry, you will. According to Forbes, only 6% of people stick with their resolutions throughout the year, while 44% of people tend to give up their goals within the first two to three months.

Ohio (2-1) lost the first match of its season to Navy (5-0) on Sunday, 27-12, despite looking strong out of the gate.

It’s December in Athens, which means that it’s now socially acceptable to sip on some hot chocolate while listening to Mariah Carey sing her heart out. While that sounds jolly and fun, it comes with the looming dread of finals week.

With the holidays near, people begin to play their favorite albums on repeat throughout the next month and a half. While many tend to listen to classic holiday songs such as "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey, "It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" by Michael Bublé or even "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" by Gayla Peevey, there may be a new contender to dethrone those staples in holiday music. Deriving from The Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line comes one of the world’s newest and possibly best Christmas album, "A Philly Special Christmas."

With finals week on the horizon, it is time to lock in and become the academic weapons we dreamt of being in late August. While there are many challenges to achieving such a status, the most prevalent obstacle -- for me, at least -- is TikTok. I will not go into the depths of my screen time on TikTok, as it is embarrassing, but I am not alone in my shame. Business Insider states that teens spend nearly two hours a day on TikTok.

Ohio will begin its home slate this weekend, hosting UT-Chattanooga and Ashland this Saturday in The Convo.
