Free the Falls, a project to remove the Gorge Dam in Summit County, officially began Aug. 28, following years of discussion on the matter, according to an official statement from Gov. Mike DeWine. The dam, located in the northeastern Ohio city of Cuyahoga Falls, sits on the Cuyahoga River and was built in 1913.

Ohio (3-14, 1-4 Mid-American Conference) will try to defend The Convo as Miami (9-8, 3-2 MAC) travels to Ohio University to play in volleyball’s rendition of the Battle of the Bricks on Friday and Saturday. Ohio is coming off its first win in two months which broke its 11-game losing streak but are now looking to carry that momentum back to home court. Miami, on the other hand, is coming off a loss after being swept by Ball State.

Bobcats are flocking to the newest restaurant on campus, Raising Cane’s Chicken Tenders, located on Court Street directly across College Green. The restaurant opened Oct. 7 with long lines flowing out of the door, showcasing a promising start for the business. However, this level of popularity may not remain, considering the various chicken-based restaurants that occupy both on and off-campus locations in Athens, Ohio. All of which are successful in their own accord.
