Gillette released the two-minute short film We Believe: The Best Men Can Be. The film aimed to target the idea of toxic masculinity and aspects associated with it, such as sexual assault, harassment and unwarranted aggression. Needless to say, users online were immediately split on the video. Those against it argued that it was unfairly targeting all men for the actions of a few, while those for it believe it brought up topics relevant to the MeToo movement and needed to be talked about.

Riding the wake of Clemson’s 44-16 massacre of Alabama in the College Football National Championship, the team was invited to the traditional meeting at the White House with President Trump. Alongside this, the team was promised a dinner to celebrate its championship. One could come to expect the meal served by the White House kitchen staff to be top notch for a team so worthy of the meal.

Last week, Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Spongebob Squarepants, passed away due to complications from ALS. His sudden death sent shockwaves across the internet, and much like Stan Lee before him, the internet entered a state of mourning. When it comes to favorite members of the Beatles, George Harrison tends to get overlooked by many. He was never seen as the songwriting juggernaut that John Lennon and Paul McCartney were, nor was he seen as under-appreciated as Ringo was. Unfortunately, George was largely overshadowed and passed over, even when the Beatles split in 1970. At least until seven months later, when he — before any of his former bandmates — released his first solo album, All Things Must Pass.

With each passing year, it appears more and more people are forgetting about Thanksgiving and skip straight from Halloween to Christmas. Forgetting Thanksgiving, in my honest opinion, is a tragedy. People can ignore it all they want, but Thanksgiving is essential to both the American holiday calendar, as well as the family calendar.

Since the late 1980s, classic rock seems to have come and went. In the ‘80s, the music style was still going strong with groups like Queen, The Eagles, AC/DC and Van Halen dominating the music scene so heavily that it seemed like rock would live forever in the music world.

Democrats and Republicans seem to have become more divided than ever, both against themselves and each other. The 2016 election only magnified this problem, with populists such as Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump dividing their respective parties along lines of moderates and those less willing to compromise their beliefs.

Of all the celebrities of the 1980s to have a successful singing career, the last person many would suspect would be David Hasselhoff. For the most part, the quality of his music is about what you could expect. The songs are incredibly campy, with cheesy lyrics that don’t say much of anything and backing music that is more bland than Walmart-brand oatmeal. The Hoff’s music, while never so much as a minor speck on the American cultural map, was so immensely popular in Cold War Germany that he could be considered a factor in the reuniting of East and West Germany.

With a season spanning over six months and games lasting upwards of three hours, the entertainment in baseball is most of the time stretched out over days, weeks or even months. And while some may see this as drawn out compared to other sports like football or basketball, one of the most exciting races for a division title in recent memory is happening and has been happening for the past two months in the National League.

A Hollywood veteran of over half a century, Mel Brooks is regarded as among one of the greatest comedians of all time. One of his greatest movies, Blazing Saddles, has been lauded by audiences and critics alike as a biting satire of both the American West and the racism depicted by Hollywood movies in the ‘60s and ‘70s.

In online entertainment, niches for particular interests are bound to emerge. No other spot on the internet does this idea ring more true than on YouTube, the internet’s largest video website (if you didn’t already know that).
