Football: Miami makes mark on Ohio's perfect season

Football: Miami makes mark on Ohio's perfect season

Directly after Ohio’s 23-20 loss to Miami Saturday, redshirt junior quarterback Tyler Tettleton stood on the sideline, hands clutching his chest protector, helmet perched atop his head. His stance differed from many of his teammates who were sulking behind the team bench or kneeling agonizingly on the field.

Post Letter: Randy Mace is a better choice for seat

We are writing in support of the candidacy of Randy Mace for county commissioner. We have known Randy since our return to Athens County in 1978. During that time we’ve seen him head the Athens County Emergency Management Agency, become the driving force for establishing 9-1-1 in Athens County, and be selected as one of a few top communication specialists in the nation to provide vital security communications for the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002.

Post Letter: Work with Pawpaw Festival shows ability to manage successfully

I am pleased to continue to support Democrat Chris Chmiel for Athens County commissioner. I have worked with Chris for a number of years on the committee that produces the Pawpaw Festival. He is personable, approachable and kind. He asks for and utilizes others’ input and feedback, often trying new ideas to see if they work for the group as a whole. He respects our time by managing our meetings well, starting and ending on time, and working from an agenda. He does not micromanage, but he does check in to make sure that things are being done in a timely fashion. He follows through on everything that he says he will do, either by delegating the job or seeing to it himself. He rolls up his sleeves and works harder than anyone else.

Post Column: Ghosts make mischief in toy stores, court

In the spirit of Halloween, let’s talk about ghosts. The first thing I’d like to say about ghosts is that if police could physically arrest ghosts, the number of registered sex offenders in the nation would double.
