Post Letter: Abusing drugs to study has dangerous effects

As the nice weather approaches, the frequency and amount of alcohol consumed increases across campus. These behaviors also are reinforced by the vast amount of fests that seem to multiply each year. These are concerns, but there might be more important concerns around campus as the end of the quarter approaches. I'm talking about the abuse of prescription drugs such as methylphenidate - Ritalin - and amphetamines - Adderall.

As the former chair and current master's of social work chair of the Department of Social Work here at OU, I would like to clarify some misperceptions that might have resulted from your article in Tuesday's issue about Payscale.com's ranking of social work as the lowest paying bachelor's degree. Although the statement is accurate on its face, the following factors need to be taken into account to understand the context of the claim.
